Our galleon lies calmly in the water, the captain keeps the ship on course. Sea of Thieves will be released in 2017 for PC and Xbox One. In some sessions you might not see anyone, they say. The two do not give details about the implementation of the online gameplay – but you shouldn’t meet other players on every second island in Sea of Thieves. The pirate adventure can only be played online, but is not intended to become a fairground. However, the two developers also make it clear that Sea of Thieves is not an MMO.
